Experiments
Talk is cheap.
I love the idea of constant development through doing and experimentation. Every major discovery and realization I’ve had in life has come through turning concepts and ideas into skills by executing repeatedly. It’s the application of ideas that cause big improvements in one’s life.
Beyond that, it’s just fun to try something new for a week or a month, and see the results.
I will conduct experiments in my own life and post observations and conclusions. All my experiments will be listed here.
Kai’s Experiment No. 1 — The Slow Carb Diet
In this experiment I follow Tim Ferriss’s Slow Carb Diet every day for 60 days. The goal is to go from 220lbs to 200lbs by March 16th, 2010. I’ve dieted before, but this is the first time I’m approaching with a longer term goal and a concentrated diet plan.

Kai’s Experiment No. 2 — Psoriasis Vegan Diet
In this experiment I follow a Vegan diet for 30+ days to see how it affects my overall health, mental state, and psoriasis. The goal is to assess the effect that animal protein, milk, and eggs have on my psoriasis, weight, and happiness. Spoiler: It’s day #60, I’m still vegan, and I’m not going back. Read on to see how a dedicated vegan diet has helped me cure my psoriasis.
Note: There isn’t an experiment log for this experiment, just a final report.

Kai’s Experiment No. 3 — Vibram Five-Fingers Running Shoes
In this experiment, I wear a pair of Vibram FiveFingers as often as possible for 30 days. Does it help my stance? My back pain? Are they awesome?
Find out.

Experiment #4: The 21-Day No-Complaint Experiment
Can giving up complaining and cursing force awareness and more precise thinking?
In this experiment, I try fix my words to fix my thoughts.
I want to force myself to think of solutions instead of commiserate about problems. I want to eliminate negative thoughts and events by not giving them a mental place to live.
